President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has expressed profound gratitude to the people of Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District following the overwhelming support and endorsement he received during the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Primary Election held in Essien Udim Local Government Area.
The Senate President, who emerged as the sole APC candidate for the Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections, participated in the primary election at his Ward Centre, Methodist School Ukana, Ukana West II Ward, where party faithful and constituents turned out massively in a strong show of solidarity, confidence, and support.
Speaking after the exercise, Senator Akpabio described the massive turnout as a powerful reflection of the enduring relationship between leadership and the people, noting that the continued trust reposed in him by his constituents remains one of the greatest motivations behind his commitment to service and effective representation at the National Assembly.
According to him, leadership must always remain connected to the people, their aspirations, and the collective progress of society. He emphasized that the responsibility of representation goes beyond occupying public office and must consistently translate into visible development, strategic empowerment, and policies that positively impact the lives of citizens.
Senator Akpabio thanked members of the APC, stakeholders, women, youths, elders, and party faithful across the Senatorial District for their loyalty and steadfast support over the years, stating that their unity and commitment continue to strengthen the party and deepen democratic participation at the grassroots.
He reaffirmed his dedication to sustaining quality representation in the Senate through people-focused legislation, strategic national engagements, and initiatives aimed at attracting more federal presence and developmental projects to Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District and Akwa Ibom State at large.
The Senate President further pledged to continue working closely with critical stakeholders to promote peace, political stability, and unity within the APC, stressing that unity remains essential to sustainable development and effective governance.
Senator Akpabio also reiterated his support for the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the current administration remains committed to national development, economic growth, institutional reforms, and expanding opportunities for Nigerians across various sectors.
He called on party faithful and constituents to continue to support President Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno, and all candidates of the APC, while assuring the people that greater dividends of democracy, infrastructural development, youth-focused opportunities, and people-centered initiatives would continue to reach the Senatorial District.
Reflecting on the journey so far, Senator Akpabio noted that public service remains a sacred responsibility built on trust, sacrifice, and commitment to the wellbeing of the people. He assured constituents that he would continue to work tirelessly in advancing policies and initiatives that uplift communities, strengthen institutions, and secure a better future for the next generation.
